While start ups are exciting, the old and big players also provide unique insight into the way the world of global industry works.
We bring you the biggest and the best – from Apple to the New York Stock Exchange, HSBC, BHP and more.
It’s not enough to sit passively and listen to speeches and that’s why we connect you to the companies and provide UK real projects for you to undertake with these companies.
It needs to be good for you and for the company and so that’s why we put you both together. You learn about the company but you also give something back.
Some of the projects previous students have worked on include business plans for start ups seeking entry to China; financial analysis of major projects; digital brand development around new products launches.
Working with our professorial staff and our business experts, we design and support you throughout your work on these projects.
After all, it’s as important to you as it is to the company you are doing the work for.
Global business isn’t just about working with other companies, it’s also about working in with and understanding foreign governments.
We provide introductions to senior government people who can help access markets and help guide you in your understanding of how their country’s business model works and how similar or different it is to China.
Essentially, they help provide a critical view of what ‘Doing Business in’ the various countries is all about.
Many countries have such agencies. Austrade (Australia), INVEST UK and JETRO (Japan) to name just a few.
By way of example JETRO is the Japanese government’s major trade support agency promoting mutually beneficial trade relations.
In this highly networked world of ours, connections are more important than ever.
Being able to build up a set of connections with the various business people and government representatives across the planet will prove invaluable in the long term.
